Abstract
The aim of the study is to compare the German specialization training in urology with other European concepts, to analyze regional differences and to evaluate the development of the personnel structure in urology in German hospitals and private practices for the last 5years. In addition, possibilities for financial funding of residents in the outpatient sector will be analyzed. After analyzing the changes in the new Urology Specialization Training Regulations (Musterweiterbildungsordnung), the current urology training situation in Germany was evaluated in aEuropean comparison. Atrend analysis of the personnel structure in urology has been performed for recent years. Additionally, apossible intersectoral rotation concept was developed. Financial funding possibilities for urological residents were evaluated in astandardized telephone survey. Compared to other European countries, the exceptional position of German urology with its enormous spectrum becomes evident. In some states, there are already possibilities of financial support provided by regional Associations of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (Krankenversicherung) for the training of urological residents in private practices. While the organization of specialization training is commonly nation based in other European countries, there is heterogeneity in Germany due to the sovereignty of the states. Due to the shift of many specialization training contents towards the outpatient sector, alliances between clinics and practices in the sense of intersectoral training will become more important in the future. Therefore, the use of already existing funds and-as along-term objective-anationwide access to such funding is desirable.

Summary
Am 12.12.2012 beauftragte die Bundesärztekammer die Fachgesellschaften mit der Novellierung der Weiterbildungsordnung von 2003 und dem Entwurf einer neuen Musterweiterbildungsordnung (MWBO). Innerhalb des vorgegebenen Rahmens müssen konkrete Ausbildungsziele und Weiterbildungsinhalte fachspezifisch durch die Fachgesellschaften definiert werden. Eine entsprechende MWBO wurde in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Berufsverband (BvDU) und der Vereinigung von urologischen Assistenzärzten (GeSRU) durch die urologische Fachgesellschaft erarbeitet. Da in Deutschland den Landesärztekammern die Hoheit der Weiterbildung obliegt, müssen diese die MWBO auf Landesebene bis Mitte 2020 umsetzen, beschließen und im Rahmen der strukturellen Vorgaben mit Inhalten füllen. Dies wird demnach auch weiterhin dazu führen, dass sich die Inhalte und Anforderungen der Weiterbildung landesweit unterscheiden können und eine gewisse. Die Ausbildung bundesweit nach dem Vorbild des europäischen Facharztes in ein einheitliches Konzept zu verwandeln, sind von der Bundesärztekammer aktuell nicht gewünscht, die Weiterbildungsinhalte bleiben Sache der Länder. Die vorliegende Arbeit stellt die wissenschaftliche Grundlage für diese Entwicklung dar
