Abstract

Agriculture is one of the prominent income sources for the farmers in Afghanistan. In order to get higher production farmers, utilize different information sources to meet their information needs. In this study, the use of electronic and digital media sources is explored quantitatively from the district Kama of Nangarhar province. Total 178 randomly selected farmers were interviewed using validated and reliable interview schedule. Collected data were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Results found positive feedback for agriculture-related T.V. programs addressing farming community needs, but radio programs have slightly lower satisfaction levels. Additionally, a substantial portion of respondents use the internet, while many do not use Facebook and WhatsApp, underscoring the importance of catering to diverse technological preferences in disseminating agricultural information. This study urged promotion of Facebook groups and WhatsApp groups by the agriculture department to disseminate agricultural information among farmers to meet their information needs
