Abstract

In recent years, rapid development of wireless communications has led to the excessive use of wireless equipments. Living in the environment of massive electromagnetic exposure coming from these wireless equipments, the EM interaction between the human body and wireless equipments is a growing concern. Specific absorption rate (SAR) caused by EM exposure is used to quantify the possible health hazards. International organizations such as ICNIRP and IEEE have set up exposure limits to restrain EM wave exposures of mobile communication handset and base station. In this paper, we calculate the currents induced on the metallic wire frame to investigate the effects of the rectangular spectacles using the finite difference time domain (FDTD) method. According to the relationship among induced currents, SAR values and temperature rise, the semi-rectangle frame is used to reduce the increasing effects due to the rectangular frame.
