Abstract

Objective To study the infection situation of EB virus in 2 462 school-age children in western Henan Province. Methods The serum of 2 462 school-age children who was diagnosed and treated in our hospital was collected from August 1, 2014 to August 31, 2017. And enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to detect 5 kinds of EB virus antibodies in serum (EB-VCA-IgA, EB-VCA-IgM, EB-VCA-IgG, EB-NA1-IgG, EB-EA-IgG). And then we analyzed the EB virus infection situation in children of different ages. Results 1. The five antibodies had higher positive rates in school-age children, and mainly were EB-VCA-IgG and EB-NA1-IgG, which were 49.79% and 43.82% respectively. And there were no statistically significant differences in the positive rates of the five antibodies between different genders. 2. We divided 2 462 school-age children into 7 groups according to their age. And statistical analysis was performed on the positive rates of EB-VCA-IgG and EB-NA1-IgG in different age groups. Then we discovered that the positive rates of the two antibodies increased gradually with age at the age of 0-6 years old, but stabilized after 6 years old of age. Conclusion There was a high positive rate of EB virus infection among school-age children in western Henan Province. And EB-VCA-IgG and EB-NA1-IgG were the main two kinds of antibodies. Key words: EB virus; Antibody; School-age children
