Abstract

This work is a continuation of the research presented at the 29th ISB, concerning an analysis of the dynamic vivacity function determined on the basis of closed vessel tests results. The main conclusion of the analysis was that the form of the vivacity function strongly depends on the loading density. In order to analyze this dependence for the loading densities ranging from 300 to 700 kg/m3, the valved closed vessel (VCV) was used. The maximum value of the time derivative of pressure was attributed to the end of the pyrostatic period. The dynamic vivacity curves for this period were determined. The strong dependence on the loading density was revealed. This was explained by differences in the temperature distribution inside propellant grains. The effect of this distribution on the values of the burning rate was analyzed. Conclusions concerning the method of analyzing closed vessel test data were formulated.
