Abstract

This study analyzes a 8-pole 36-slot dual three-phase synchronous reluctance motor, according to two different winding arrangements. First, inductance behaviors are computed by using winding function theory. Then, the torque components are analyzed caused by ABC-system, XYZ-system, and the mutual components of ABC- and XYZ-systems, according to different winding arrangements. Here, torque behavior at the rated current was analyzed ignoring the saturation of the iron core. Additionally, each torque characteristic of two-type winding arrangements are compared. Finally, the torque characteristics analyzed using the winding function theory are verified through experiments.
