Abstract

In this article, analysis of shorted rectangular patch antenna with dual inverted C-slot has been analysed using cavity model. The parameters of the antenna significantly depend on slot dimensions as well as position of the shorting pin. The theoretical bandwidth of the proposed antenna is found to be 7.6 % (simulated 6.1 and 5.4 % experimentally). Further, antenna radiates in broadside direction over the entire bandwidth. The theoretical results are compared with IE3D simulated and experimental ones which are in close agreement. This antenna is used where limited space is required.
