Abstract

At the moment, when rolling steel balls with a nominal diameter of 100 mm for the mining industry, two-way rolling rolls are used. In the process of rolling grinding balls on a ball rolling mill, due to the use of double-threaded design, the adjustment parameters of the angle of the position of the rolling rolls increase. When working on these tuning parameters, the tangential loads increase during the rolling process. These loads lead to increased wear of the surface of the edges of the rolling rolls. Rolling grinding balls with a standard diameter of 100 mm on rolls with double-threaded design with increased wear of the surface of the edges leads to the appearance of defects on the surface of the balls that exceed the maximum permissible dimensions. This article presents the results of modeling the process of rolling balls. Reducing tangential loads on the balls during production improves the surface quality of the balls.
