Abstract

In order to establish a simple, efficient and reproducible method for the determination of β crystalline form in β/ γ-cyclotetramethylene tetramethylammonium nitrate (HMX), the characteristic parameters of β-HMX /γ-HMX mixture samples were determined by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Then the ratio of the characteristic peak-to-peak area of the two crystal forms A1034cm−1/A601cm−1 was used to plot the β-HMX content, and the standard curve was obtained. The results show that the fitting equation is y=−0.222x+0.9725, and the correlation coefficient is 0.9911. The data reproducibility and fitting correlation of A1034cm−1/A601cm−1 are much better than that of peak area method.
