Abstract

SWAT (Soil and Water Assessment Tool) model, directing against the particularly acute water environment problems of Jiyun River Basin, can be for simulation analysis on stream flow, nutrient loadings and so forth. In this paper, monthly water quality Ammonia Nitrogen data from 1995 to 2002 were applied to calibrate the model with the Nash Sutcliffe coefficient of 0.62 and the correlation coefficient of 0.92; data from 2002 to 2004 were applied to validate the model with the Nash coefficient of 0.75 and the correlation coefficient of 0.90. Therefore, SWAT model was well applied in the research area. The research results reveal that critical source areas contain several parts including south of Jixian, centre of Baodi, northwest and southeast of Ninghe, west and south of Hangu; the nutrient loadings of Jixian, Baodi and Ninghe are mainly produced by agricultural runoff, livestock and poultry feeding and rural domestic life sewage, with industrial waste water, urban domestic pollution and urban runoff as the...
