Abstract
Propagating gravitational plane wavepackets can exhibit a residue effect as a result of non-linear self-interaction. The stability and consequences of this behaviour are studied. The author examines the stability of the qualitative behaviour with respect to perturbations in both gravitational degrees of freedom, by evolving the full Einstein equations in a fully constrained manner.
