Abstract
OBJECTIVE: Complete fertilization failure occurs infrequently in IVF cycles for non-male factors but is emotionally devastating for the couples involved and poses a management challenge. While ICSI is generally recommended to minimize recurrence, no studies have contrasted these failed IVF cycles with subsequent ICSI cycles in the same couples. The purpose of this study was to characterize these failed IVF cycles and to explore potential, underlying causes for complete fertilization failure.
