Abstract
Objective To investigate the constituent characteristics of disease category for diagnosis, treatment and epidemiological study. Methods 6 099 cases with pulmonary tuberculosis suspicious symptoms from Yuexiu District of Guangzhou City from 2010 to 2015 were analyzed respectively. The results of percentage of active tuberculosis, old tuberculosis and non-tuberculous lung diseases were calculated according to age and gender. Secular trend from 2010 to 2015 was also observed. Results The percentages of active tuberculosis, old tuberculosis and non-tuberculous lung diseases were 58.34%, 7.85%, and 33.81% among 6 099 cases, of which those were 60.62%, 7.79%, 31.58% in male and 54.32%, 7.96%, 37.72% in female respectively. The percentages were 34.62%, 0, and 65.38% in cases under the age of 15 years old, and those were 41.69%-77.72% (58.34%), 1.10%-13.03% (7.85%), and 20.10%-45.77% (33.81%) in cases aged 15 years old and over and divided into various age group according to the interval of 5 years old. There were gradually descending trend for the percentages of active tuberculosis and opposite for non-tuberculous lung diseases with age. But the secular trend from 2010 to 2015 had no regularity. Conclusions The difference of percentages of active tuberculosis, old tuberculosis, and non-tuberculous lung diseases does not exist between male and female cases with pulmonary tuberculosis suspicious symptoms. But the differences of percentages of different age group were obvious and it is essential to emphasize differential diagnosis for the elderly with pulmonary tuberculosis suspicious symptoms.
