Abstract
There are many unique and attractive properties of microstrip antennas (MSA) like low profile, light weight, compact and conformal structure. Various methods for the analysis of circular, rectangular and other shapes are given in James and Hall (1989). The sectoral MSA (with sector angles which are integer sub-multiples of 180/spl deg/) have been analyzed using the cavity model and a theoretical discussion about their resonance frequency is available in Solomon and Richards (1979) and Richards et al. (1984). However, no details about their impedance bandwidth and radiation pattern are available. The multiport network model (MNM) has been used to analyze 120/spl deg/ sector and mixed boundary MSA (Eswarappa et al., 1989). The MNM using Green's function and segmentation method is been extended to analyze circular sector microstrip antennas with any sector angle. The feed point location, impedance bandwidth and radiation pattern for several sector angles are presented. >
