Abstract

The Large Rotor Test Apparatus is used in the National Full-Scale Aerodynamics Complex for testing large full-scale rotor systems up to 52,000 pounds of thrust. A calibration rig was designed and constructed for the installed calibration of the Apparatus’ multi-component rotor load measurement device. A description of the Large Rotor Test Apparatus, the measurement device, the calibration rig, and the calibration process is presented. The calibration data base and its analysis are described and representative results are provided.
