Abstract

This paper deals with the analysis of Bit Error Rate (BER) of LoRa signals in IoT-based networks over Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) and the Rayleigh channel model is simulated and evaluated through MATLAB simulations. LoRa modulation uses Chirp Spread Spectrum (CSS) and these chirp signals are dependent on the Spreading Factor (SF) from SF7 to SF12. MATLAB code from the novel LoRa network open source emulator is used for simulation. The Frequency Shift Keying (FSK) modulation and Phase Shift Keying (PSK) modulation schemes are proposed on the above-mentioned fading channels for 4 SFs (SF7 to SF10). Whereas, existing works have not focused on modulation schemes on communication channels. The FSK and PSK modulation scheme on fading channels shows promising performance in all SFs. The analysis of BER with respect to energy per bit to noise power spectral density ratio (Eb/N0) in dB is presented as results.
