Abstract

In temperature field calculations in solids the accuracy of thermal properties influences the results of computations. In this paper, the inverse method is presented to predict the thermal conductivity and the heat of phase transition. The finite element method is used to solve the heat conduction equation. With the assumed thermal properties and heat effect of phase transition the numerical calculations were carried out to test the method. The multi-step procedure has been proposed. The results of computations have been presented and discussed in the paper.
