Abstract

A dual mobility cup was implanted in 1983 in a 43-year woman. After 31 years of normal function, we analysed the explanted materials with modern techniques. Volumetric wears of the small and large articulations of the dual-mobility construct were similar. For the first time, we demonstrated that the dual-mobility liner underwent parabolic (not linear) wear during the period of implantation.
