Abstract

The purpose of this research was to test whether the Treffinger learning model-based ethnomatematics good quality in improving the ability of Adaptive reasoning of students and to describe the ability of Adaptive reasoning based on the trust level student. The research method used was Mixed methods. The population in this research is a student of class X of SCIENCES SMA Negeri Wiradesa school year 2017/2018, by sampling selected two classes of purposif are class X MIPA 2 as a class of experiments using Treffinger learning model-based ethnomatematics and class X MIPA 1 a class of control using model learning PBL. While the research subjects were interviewed consisted of 6 students i.e 2 subjects from high confidence category, 2 subjects from moderate confidence category, and 2 subjects from low confidence category. The data were obtained using the test methods, the scale of confidence, interview and observation. Quantitative data analysis techniques include data analysis prerequisite test and analysis of research data. While the qualitative data analysis techniques include the reduction of data, data presentation, and make conclusions. The results showed that: (1) Treffinger learning model-based ethnomatematics has good quality in improving students' adaptive reasoning ability, because the learning process planning has good criteria, the implementation of learning process has very good criteria, from teacher and student activity, and average classroom learning achievement reaches KKM; (2) students with Treffinger learning model-based ethnomatematics achieve classical mastery; (3) there is an increase in the ability of adaptive reasoning in the experimental class; (4) the ability of the adaptive reasoning in the experimental class is better than the control class; (5) students with high confidence are able to meet four indicators; (6) students with moderate confidence are meet three indicators; and (7) students with low confidence are able to meet one indicator.
