Abstract
AC losses in the transport regime were measured in Ag-sheathed (Bi,Pb)/sub 2/Sr/sub 2/Ca/sub 2/Cu/sub 3/O/sub x/ (Ag/2223) tapes at 77 K in the frequency range 35-180 Hz. The samples were multifilamentary, prepared by OPIT (oxide powder in tube) technique, and concentric prepared by the wire-in-tube technique, and they had different superconducting core geometries. Measured losses were confirmed to be hysteretic in nature in the examined frequency range. The experimental results are compared with the prediction of the elliptical and thin strip Norris model.
