Abstract
A complete 2D mathematical model of an array of single-mode waveguides containing waveguide sections with semitransparent walls, which were proposed earlier for formation of flat-topped partial patterns, is developed. The semitransparent walls are formed from rows of cylindrical conductors. The model is constructed on the basis of the method of projection matching of the fields in the apertures of waveguides with solid walls and the method of auxiliary sources used for consideration for wave scattering by cylindrical conductors. The results of formation of flat-topped partial patterns and calculation of the array reflection coefficients are presented for different values of the array spacing. A simplified design of the array without passive waveguides at the input is also considered. It is shown that the radiation and matching characteristics of the simplified array are close to the corresponding characteristics of the original array.
