Abstract
Mathematical systems analysis of a fundamental tree growth model has led toa system of ordinary differential equations with non-differentiable right hand side. The equations involve two damage parameters which are responsible for the different behavioral modes of the solutions. It was found that, besides exponentially increasing or stagnating solutions, three types of decreasing solutions with different rate constants coexist. The corresponding domains of attraction are obtained. Since the results coincide with the real-world phenomena, the model is suitable for practical applications and further research.
