Abstract

Power collection in a MAGLEV (Magnetically Levitated) vehicle is a difficult task due to its high speed. To overcome this difficulty, the power required on board the train is generated by means of linear generators in a high speed MAGLEV vehicle which is propelled by a LSM(Linear Synchronous Motor). This paper deals with characteristics of the thrust and levitation force of a magnetically levitated vehicle with a linear synchronous motor and the performance of linear generators.
