Abstract

Detecting atomic clock anomalies is a crucial issue for navigation and time metrology. Specially navigation applications in which the time measurements play a fundamental role, it is essential to detect anomalies as soon as possible in order to avoid user positioning errors. In the paper we generalized the frequency jump detector based on Kalman filter proposed in [1] for an easy application to the case of multi variable clock system. The simulation shows that the detector has low False Alarm Probability, high Detection Probability and low computational cost due to iterative nature of Kalman filter. Moreover it is of immediate generalization to the case of systems with multiple state variables or with several atomic clocks.
