Abstract

A homogeneous single-step strategy is used to synthesize pure and tin doped nanostructured vanadium oxide via simplified hydrothermal methodology. The XRD pattern reveals the pure and mixed phases of orthorhombic and monoclinic structures. The inclusion of dopant makes changes in morphological changes that are identified in SEM. XPS and EDS confirm the existence of elements. The energy gap changes in response to doping from 3.44 eV to 3.29 eV. Spectral signals are identified and analyzed. Impedance analysis shows Debye-type relaxation. Z-scan studies reveal the existence of two-photon absorption (2PA), which induces the optical limiting behavior of pure and tin doped V2O5 samples.
