Abstract

The analysis of phenoxy acid herbicide 2,4-D(2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid) and its ozonation intermediates using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was studied in this paper. We discussed the effect of detective wave, mobile phase components and flow rate on the separation and detection of 2,4-D and its ozonation intermediates. Experimental results reveal several key parameters in the experimental work such as methanol −0.05M phosphoric acid solution(65/35, v/v) as mobile phase, 228 nm as detective wave and 1.0 mL/min as mobile phase flow rate. These parameters are suitable for detecting 2,4-D and it's ozonation intermediates.
