Abstract

An analysis of the harmful effects of vibrations generated as a result of works involving construction site equipment and propagated to an adjacent building and its users through the ground was carried out within the scope of this paper. Mechanical vibrations were generated during construction works by a pneumatic drill and a backhoe loader in the north east section of the 2nd line of the Warsaw Metro. The vibrations were assessed pursuant to the requirements specified in the Polish PN-B-02170:2016-12 standard and compared with the standard threshold values. The research methodology, taking into account a description and location of the measurement site and specification of the measurement apparatus, is also presented.
