Abstract

Phased antenna array are used in communication, navigation, localization and military etc. The design of Phased antenna array is of interest to mathematicians because of the opportunity and challenges it offers in formulation and solution. There are several challenges in the design and implementation of the system. In this paper, a basic array design is tested and effects of various variables involved with the system are studied in detail. Two problems associated with the design of Phased antenna array namely, amplitude response of phase shifter and phase distortion of power amplifier are discussed and away to solve these problems in general mathematical formulation using constraints to minimization problems is presented.
