Abstract

The negative sequence heating of turbine generator rotors is a complicated three dimensional problem. Part of this complexity is due to saturation and the presence of the transverse flexibility slots. The problem is analyzed by means of a non-linear two dimensional technique and a non-linear quasi three-dimensiQnal technique. The eddy current distribution, loss distribution, and resulting temperature distribution are calculated and compared to test results.
