Abstract

The Modified Discrete Cosine Transform (MDCT) is widely used in audio coding and audio signals compression algorithms. This paper presents an Integer Modified Discrete Cosine transform (IntMDCT) using KBD window. The IntMDCT is derived from an integer approximation of the MDCT using the lifting scheme. The integer approximation of the lifting scheme is called rounding or integer rotation. This integer transform has most of the attractive properties of the MDCT, exhibiting a good spectral representation of the audio signals, good frequency selectivity., critical sampling and over lapping which leads the IntMDCT well suited for both lossless audio coding as well as for combined perceptual and lossless audio coding. IntMDCT is providing perfect reconstruction and fast algorithm.
