Abstract

This paper present analysis and modelling of single phase nine level inverter, a Wide range of Modulation index (M) varied between 0.05-1.05 is achieved by two switching strategies (Optimized harmonic stepped waveform (OHSW), (Optimal minimization of total harmonic distortion (OTHD)) the first strategy focusses on harmonic elimination and the other on reducing output voltage total harmonic distortion (THD). Calculation of switching angles for both equal and unequal dc sources is done by Genetic Algorithm (GA). simulation in Matlab, PSpice and PSIM is presented in this work.
