Abstract
At present, significant global attention is drawn to road traffic safety and casualties caused by road traffic accidents. With its rapid economic development, China is picking up its pace in urbanization and mobilization. Meanwhile, the situation of road safety in China has become more and more severe. A total of 378,781 road traffic accidents occurred in China during the year of 2006, resulting in 89,455 deaths, 431,139 injuries and 1.49 billion RMB of direct economic losses. Research on how to control this situation and improve road traffic safety is thus of great importance to the country. This paper studied the current situation of road traffic safety in China and carried out quantitative analysis and prediction of the developing trend of road traffic safety in China by using grey prediction model.
