Abstract

Thermal-photo-oxidative coupling and anaerobic and thermal-oxidative aging conditioning at 135°C were conducted on styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS)-modified asphalt at different aging temperatures in this paper. The changes of the functional group index before and after aging of modified asphalt were quantified by the attenuated total reflection method of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and a nonlinear model of aging degree and aging prediction of SBS-modified asphalt was established. The results show that the comprehensive aging index, which characterizes the aging of SBS-modified asphalt by the carbonyl index, sulfoxide index, polybutadiene index, and polystyrene index, can evaluate the aging degree well. The established nonlinear model can accurately quantify the final aging degree and aging rate of SBS-modified asphalt.
