Abstract

In this paper, we have analyzed the dielectrophoretic (DEP) force in a planar electrode structure and compared the force with the values from the experiments. The analysis is made by an FEM package program. The motion of yeast cells in the electrode array is analyzed with curve fitting in order to calculate the force from the experiments. The DEP force from the analysis is one order higher than that from the experiments when the cells move afloat by from the bottom.
