Abstract
This paper presents Chireix outphasing system design using continuous class-F GaN HEMT power amplifiers. With the utilization of non-isolated combiner, this outphasing power amplifier exhibits efficiency enhancement at 6–7 dB back-off over 50 MHz bandwidth while operating at center frequency of 1.6 GHz. The outphasing system is implemented using two-channel transmitter (TSW30SH84) from Texas Instruments with reconfigurable Arria-V (GT series) FPGA platform. This provides two synchronized outphased signals for deriving the Chireix outphasing amplifier.
