Abstract

A high power density axial flux permanent magnet linear synchronous machine and the stirling system will be introduced. This machine is a tubular axial flux permanent magnet machine. It comprises two parts: stator and mover. With the 2D finite-element method (FEM), the high power density axial flux permanent magnet linear synchronous machine will be analyzed and designed. To get the high power density and decrease the size of this machine, some key parameters were analyzed and we can find out how these parameters affect the performance of the axial flux permanent magnet linear synchronous machine. The force of the axial flux permanent magnet linear synchronous machine is uneven, so the force fluctuation of the machine is discussed and some ways to get small force fluctuation are mentioned. The prototype machine of the axial flux permanent magnet linear synchronous machine is manufacturing. Some photos of the parts of the prototype machine are listed in this digest.
