Abstract
The concept of smart grid and microgrid is a vast area of research now a days. In this paper, various control strategies are presented for ac and hybrid ac-dc microgrid. Based on hierarchical control levels of microgrid, the different control strategies are discussed in local control, secondary control and global control. Several research surveys are made for these methods. A proper control technique is required for constant generation of all units. Comparisons are done between different control techniques.
