Abstract
Volume rendering technology is an important part of scientific computing visualization, and has great research value and a wide range of application prospects. This paper studies two typical volume rendering algorithms, which are volume rendering in order of image space, including Composite Volume Rendering (CVR), Maximum Intensity Projection (MIP) and Isosurface Volume Rendering (IVR), and volume rendering in order of object space, including Shear Warp algorithm (SW). These algorithms are implemented by 3D reconstruction of the patient CT tomographic images by VC++ and VTK. At the same time, this paper analyzes and compares the respective performances of these algorithms. Through these evaluations, more appropriate volume rendering algorithms applied in robot-assisted surgery can be selected.
