Abstract

Aiming at the problems of monotonous river protection goal and applicability of calculation methods in the studies on the ecological flow of small-sized rivers in southern water-rich areas, based on the established set of zoning and classification system for rivers in Shenzhen, this paper takes Shenzhen River as an example to carry out the analytical research on the ecological flow of Shenzhen River under the zoning and classification. The upper reaches of the Shenzhen River are the general river with the mountain ecological background, its ecological protection goal is to maintain the ecological base flow. Four hydrological methods such as the Tennant method are used for calculation, and the outsourced value of each method is used as the ecological baseflow value. The middle and lower reaches of the Shenzhen River are estuary reaches; their ecological protection goal is to maintain the habitat stability of estuary areas. The ecological flow in estuary reaches was analyzed with the tidal current limit of the driest month as the control index, and the ecological model method was used to simulate the location of the tidal current limit of the driest month in the Shenzhen River before and after the construction of the Shenzhen Reservoir. According to the simulation of tidal current limit changes under different water inflow conditions, the ecological flow in the estuary area is found as 1.9 m3/s by analyzing. This study realized the application of ecological flow zoning and classification research, and promoted the scientific management and control of river ecological flow.
