Abstract

Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) has been a promising multiplexing scheme used for different latest wireless technologies like LTE and New Radio. But it has a major issue of High peak to power ratio (PAPR) that reduces the efficiency of non-linear devices used in OFDM system. As seen in literature, there are number of techniques that are used to reduce PAPR influence on OFDM signal. Selective Mapping (SLM), Partial Transmit Sequence (PTS) and Clipping are some significant techniques that show good performance. In this paper, we analyzed the PAPR performance of a Hybrid SLM and PTS technique for different number of subcarriers. Then, we combined this Hybrid SLM and PTS technique with Clipping and analyzed the performance in terms of PAPR reduction value. Further, the effect of different modulation schemes on this Hybrid combination is also analyzed.
