Abstract

AbstractFor a systems analyst there can be many ethical questions related to the activities of systems analysis and systems design. In this paper we examine the ethical problems that can arise for a systems analyst, discuss potential sources of ethical guidance for systems analysts, and outline a framework for analysing ethical issues in information technology projects. A case study is examined in a large insurance company which demonstrates how analysis of ethical issues can be embedded in a proprietary methodology such as SSADM.
