Abstract

Several analogies between nuclear systems and liquid 3He are presented and discussed. The usefulness of the mean field approach in describing several static and dynamic properties of quantum liquids is emphasized. Using a Skyrme force to account for the interaction in liquid 3He we give predictions for the equation of state in bulk matter, for relevant surface properties (surface profile, clusters) and for the liquid-gas transition.
