Abstract

One way to protect overhead power lines surge is to prevent that occurring in line surges caused damage to the insulation. This can be achieved, inter alia, by changing the pole ground resistance and inductance. This paper presents the results of the evaluation of the voltage drop across the inductance of two different support structures relevant to overhead power lines and high voltage high. We analyzed the phenomenon of direct lightning strike to the tower lattice and the tubular tower. (Comparative analysis of the inductive voltage drop across the tower lattice and tubular tower in terms of the current surge).
