Abstract

Many Spare Parts in Warehouse of Company X in Bogor that rusted after being stored for more than 3years. Warehouse has an area of 1826 m 2 and the average Relative Humidity (RH) on 2010 was 85.64%, whilethe ideal Relative Humidity for storage of spare parts is about 50% to 65%. The factors that give to thewarehouse dehumidification load is permeation of air from the wall/floor/roof, moisture from the packaging,moisture from personnel, air infiltration from wall, air leakage from gap in the doors, air from the door activities(open & close the door) and fresh air for ventilation. From the moisture load calculation found that the mostinfluential factor is the existence of door activities which could reach 75% of the total moisture load 11.94liters/hour. Dehumidifier Equipment that best suits type is "Cooling-based dehumidification" as much as 3 unitswith capacity of each unit is approximately 4 liters/hour, this equipment will require electricity cost around Rp34,898,526.00 per year. With the installation of Dehumidifier Equipment, then Relative Humidity can becontrolled and spare parts corrosion rate could be close to zero.
