Abstract

AbstractThe Purpose of this study is to describe the domestic role of wives who work in oil palm plantations in an effort to support children's formal education and the public roles of wives who work in oil palm plantations in supporting children's formal education. The research method used is qualitative using a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation. The analysis in this study is presented descriptively using 5 informants, namely the wives who play multiple roles. The results of this study indicate that the domestic wife role in children's education is very important in controlling and motivating children's learning, the role of a mother in the house is not only taking care of the household but also plays an important role in educating children. Meanwhile, the wife's public role is a wife or mother who must be able to share her time in the world of work with at home, by working a wife will get income where the income is not only to meet daily needs but also to meet the educational needs of her child. With the involvement of wives in the world of work, the role of a wife in the home is less, especially in terms of children's education.Keywords: Dual Role, Wife, Child Education
