Abstract

A ceramic plate mold is a tool for printing ceramic plates made of gypsum. This gypsum mold is very much needed because previously using a Teflon-based mold which was very risky. The length of the drying process by drying in the sun becomes one of the problems when it rains and takes quite a long time. The purpose of this study was to determine the decrease in the moisture content of the ceramic plate mold after the drying process. Therefore, by making drying and utilizing the residual heat from the combustion in the production oven, it is hoped that the drying of this ceramic plate mold can be done quickly and efficiently. Research and testing of this rack-type ceramic plate mold dryer were carried out by testing the capacity of 2880 ceramic plate molds with a total drying time of 5 days with the drying temperature maintained at 38 - 41 OC. The result of the final moisture content drying of the wet ceramic plate mold was 85% with a weight of 847grams of evaporated moisture content from 1 mold produced with a drying rate constant of 0.271 hours-1.
