Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine the skills of teachers in implementing variations in teachingstyles in sociology learning in class XI IIS at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Pontianak. Thisresearch method uses qualitative research methods with descriptive research form. Thedata source of this research is the Sociology subject teacher for Class XI IIS 1 at SMAMuhammadiyah 1 Pontianak. The results showed that the variation in the teaching styleof the sociology teacher at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Pontianak was very good, but therewere a few short comings made by the teacher regarding voice variations. This goodteaching style variety is shown by the enthusiasm of the students during the learningprocess where the teacher provides a question and answer session and some students areable to correctly answer the questions given by the teacher. Even though during thelearning process there were several obstacles experienced by the teacher, such as anuncontrolled online classroom atmosphere, the teacher was ableto properly implementseveral components of the variation of teaching styles including, concentration ofattention, pointofview, movement and expression.Keywords: Teaching Skills, Teaching Style Variations, Sociology Learning
