Abstract

Sociolinguistic competence is still classified as not good. This study aims to find patterns of sociolinguistic competence in terms of self-concept in Dilema Based Learning bentuk. The study used was a mixed method with concurrent embedded design. The study was conducted with fifth grade students at Cipocok Berhasil Public Elementary School in Serb Banten. The type of research information was obtained from pre- and post-tests, questionnaires, and interviews. The information analysis used in this study was normality test, homogeneity test, independent samples t-test, and gain n test. The results of this study revealed the following: 1) the post-test scores of the experimental class increased; 2) different patterns of sociolinguistic competence were found in the groups with low, biasa, and high self-concept.
