There was no relationship between the level of patient dependence (p = 0.281> α = 0.05) with nurses work stress. The results of the F test showed that together with the independent variables related to work stress nurses (p = 0,000 <α = 0.05) with a coefficient of determination of 62.5%. It is recommended for the hospital to conduct training for nurses on how to handle mental patients.
