Abstract

Research on the analysis of the impact of agricultural land conversion on food security in Pidie Regency aims to determine the impact of agricultural land conversion on food security in Pidie Regency. The data used in this study are secondary data obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics and the Department of Agriculture and Food of Pidie Regency from 2009 to 2018. The food security of the population is calculated using the food surplus / deficit method. In addition, this study used statistical analysis of the paired sample t test. The results show that there has been a conversion of agricultural land in the period 2009 to 2018 amounting to 19,869 hectares with an average area of paddy fields converted to 1,987 hectares per year and loss of rice production of 115,023.2 tons during the 2009-2018 period. Despite the conversion of agricultural land, however, the population's food security has been maintained.
